There are just a few collaborations in sport between a brand and a star that are comparable to that of Adidas and Eddy Merckx. The great "Cannibal" endorsed cycling shoes of this German brand so well, that they became and instant icon and pretty much everyone wanted a pair. Or two. And this popularity (but also sheer quality and great looks) resulted in prices that were not far from extreme.
In the 70s, he triumphed basically in every possible race in a black leather Adidas shoes. The most iconic model is the Competition on which these Eddy Merckx shoes are based. Instead of mesh you have perforated leather.

Left and right shoe come from different batch with different markings, but are identical in terms of style and fit. Toe anti-slip pad just on the left shoe.
