In 1903 the "Société Gentil et Cie" had the brand Alcyon registered and in the following year, 1904 they registered the brand Windsor.

While Alcyon was the branch that sponsored a professional cycling team which had won the Tour de France a whooping 7(!) times by the end of the 1920s, Windsor remained less known.
Alcyon bikes were rather expensive and should stay that way to enhance the image of the top notch machine of its time, so Windsor was formed into the second-in-line solution for those who wanted a high class bike without spending an arm and a leg.
Soon enough Windsor bikes were featured at the end of the Alcyon brochures rather than getting their own catalogue.

And here we have a French racing bike, which is branded Windsor.
Yet it leaves many questions unanswered.
If it was a Windsor bike it would have to be a rather early pre WW1 one, but the parts and some details do not match that picture. The fork crown is a rather particular one which does not match with any Alcyon or Windsor of that time for example.
The dropouts suggest that this might be a French bike from the 1920s, but some parts - especially the crankset - seem to come from an Alcyon bike of the 1940s.
As you can see, the bike is more likely a typical mix-matched bike which has been improved with newer parts over the years, but seems to be based on a 1920s frameset.

For friends of the very classy bikes of the pre WWII era, this would be a decorative and functional piece to enjoy!
