Ever since Basso started building bikes in 1981, they have been on the forefront of innovative steel designs with a classic appearance.

The company was founded by three brothers. Marino was a professional cyclist who won the 1972 world championships and numerous podiums in grand tours. He brought the knowledge about how a bike should feel and his name. Renato was an academic philosopher and became the financial manager of the company. The youngest, Alcide was the one who was most interested in the technical aspects of bike building and set up the initial workshop.

The top model in the early years of the company was the Basso Gap later accompanied by the Loto model. Here we present you Basso Gap classic road frameset which is unlike most Gap frames made of Columbus SLX tubes in the main triangle. They feature inner helical reinforcements, making the frame stiffer while keeping the weight still low. The front fork is a piece of beautly with its smooth sloping crown.
