Arne, the service manager at Steel Vintage Bikes, starts his epic ride from Berlin (Germany) to Bakewell (UK) tomorrow, 13th June 2014! His goal is L'Eroica Britannia, the most handsome vintage bike race which takes place in Peak District National Park, United Kingdom on 20-22nd June! Of course, he will be riding a vintage bike! What else? :-) His lovely bike is a milky white Mercier from the 1960s. The bicycle is equipped with Campagnolo Record group, iconic Mafac Racer brake system, tubular Mavic rims and Brooks leather saddle.
Arne is planing to ride around 200km every day! Is it possible? Will he be able to do it? We believe that he will and wish him good luck! We will be posting daily updates about his adventure on Twitter and here, at the Steel Vintage Bikes blog! So stay tuned and feel free to comment!
Arne is 33 years old from Nettetal (Germany), is the Service Manager at Steel Vintage Bikes. He studied History and Rhetoric, but his deep interest in bicycles had the upper hand. Arne defines classic bikes with one adjective: rewarding... He takes care after each single bicycle we have, making sure that everything is always excellent and in stock. A couple of cold beers in the fridge to share with workmates too!
Photos and more stories will follow soon ;-) Stay tuned!
