Eroica Hispania 2015 is held on 7th June in Cenicero (La Rioja - Spain), a thousand-years-old village. Cenicero literally means "ashtray" and was presumably named after a primitive custom of leaving ash piles in the campfires on the Ebro River shores.
Eroica Hispania is at its first edition. The event grew out a project of Miguel Silvestre Iniesta and Willy Mulonia. They met each other for the firts time in 2010 in Mongolia and then two years later in Gaiole in Chianti, they came with the idea to organise the Eroica Hispania.
Cycling becomes again a means to discover territories and traditions, and to promote a "slow and sustainable" tourism. And in order to recreate the same environment of L'Eroica, the organisers chose La Rioja region as location for this three day festival. Vineyards, wineries and several artistic and cultural sites will be the background of the routes, which twist and turn through some paths of the famous Camino de Santiago.
Part of a festival with many side events, such as the vintage fair at the Plaza de Toros in Cenicero, Eroica Hispania consists of three different routes of 63, 112 and 198 km. Being a non-competitive race, all the distances are designed to meet all participants' abilities. Whether you go for the shortest one or you are well prepared to tackle the 198 km route, it will be a very pleasant ride on gravel roads through magnificent landscapes and UNESCO sites.
Like other Eroica 2015 Events, only "Heroic Bicycles" are admitted.

Eroica Hispania is definitely a great occasion to experience the yesteryear, not only by riding classic and vintage bicycles, but also by visiting some Medieval villages with centennial traditions. Food and wine delicacies, music and local craftsmanship will be also the background of the event indeed.
Save the date and do not miss the chance to enjoy the magnificent landscapes of Eroica Hispania 2015!
