Ugo De Rosa is certainly one of the most admired bike manufacturers of all time and has been frame builder and mechanic to many champions (Gianni Motta, Eddy Merckx and Francesco Moser, just to name a few).
As a frame builder, Ugo de Rosa was absolutely the measure of all things from the mid 1970s to early 1980s. In fact, in the Giro d'Italia of 1974, an estimated 80% of all riders in the peloton rode on bikes which were built by De Rosa.
He manufactured high-end masterpieces and through them strongly influenced the cycling industry. In his dominant years of the 1970s, his top model was the De Rosa Strada Record
We are happy to be able to present one of these machines to you. An exemplar in surprisingly superb condition, on top. A bike that has been refurbished and which is equipped with the finest components.
The Strada Record argueably is one of the best road bikes of the 1970s.
Made of Columbus SL steel tubes (a light, butted, stiff tubing) and equipped with some of the best parts of its time.
If you take a closer look you can spot the De Rosa signature 'Diamante' chainstays, which were profiled to have a rhombus-formed cross section.
A unique bicycle with a great appeal and value! A very collectible bike.
