Elio classic bicycle with Campagnolo 50th anniversary group set from 1983. Elio is an Italian brand from Orbassano (Turin) which had been acquired by Ugo De Michelis in the 1980s (the signature on the stem belongs to him). As most of the brands of the area surrounding the city, Elio frames were built by Giuseppe Villata, one of the most skilled frame builder from Turin. And it is a given that Villata still builds high-quality hand-made frames.
This Elio Elite frame is made of Columbus SLX tubes - likely the best Columbus tubing - and has a very refined lugging. Designed for professional cyclists, this Columbus tube set provides additional stiffness to the frame.
