Beschreibung

Cycles Mercier is a French bicycle manufacturer founded in 1919 by Emile Mercier in Saint-Etienne, the cradle of French cycling manufacturing.
From the 1930s through to the 1980s they sponsored cycling teams which helped them to establish the status of a high end sports bike manufacture. Many famous Champions like Antonin Magne, Louison Bobet, Rik Van Steenbergen, Rolf Wolfshohl, Raymond Poulidor, or Joop Zoetemelk made the bikes famous the world over.

At the time when Mercier had a particular stronghold in professional cycling, their top class racing bikes were some of best you could get in France. - Just like our Mercier Tour de France Model from 1973.

The frame of the bike consists of a combination which was possibly responisble for more cycling victories than any other: intricate Nervex lugs and lightweight butted Reynolds 531 tubing.
As for the parts we find the same groupset which was used by the Pro Team GAN-Mercier-Hutchinson in 1973: A complete Campagnolo Nuovo Record, completed by a Cinelli cockpit.

This serious pro-level racing machine would have been best Mercier you could have gotten in 1973.

This bike in its iconic pink, white and black colour scheme is a perfect bike to make an appearance on at classic cycling events.

Not only for fans of PouPou but definitely interesting for everybody who remebers the champion that was Raimond Poulidor.
