In the late 1980s and early 1990s the Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra was one of the best road bike frames you could get and therefore the choice of many professional teams. It dominated the peloton with its extremely well made triangle of light and rigid Columbus SLX tubes. The SLX was a "superbutted" tubeset from Cyclex steel, designed for professional use, famous for its helical reinforcements on the end of the tubes.
This Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra time trial frame comes from the year 1989 and belonged to the Pro-Team Kelme. It has a very agressive geometry for the use of a 'normal 28" rear wheel and a super low 24" front wheel.
Of course it got a nice number holder, too.
So this frame is the right choice for any 80s cycling enthusiast or Team Kelme fan!
