The Eddy Merckx Professional was the top model of the early 1980s Eddy Merckx catalogue. After retiring from competitions, the great Champion Eddy Merckx started setting up a bicycle manufacture. Since he wanted to build the best road bikes possible, he engaged simply the best frame builder to help him with designing the frames and teaching other frame builders: Ugo De Rosa.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s the Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra was one of the best road bike frames and therefore the choice of many professional teams. Much rarer than the men's version is the ladies frame, which is a classic anglais construction and which used basically the same materials as the classic diamond shape version. It is also made of Columbus SLX tubes, featuring the inner helical reinforcements. 

Our frame - serial number D8360C - dates back to early 90s and is in original condition. As for the components, it is equipped with a full Campagnolo Athena groupset, Mavic clincher rims with fine Veloflex tyres, Turbo saddle in "Lady" version and a Cinelli cockpit.
