Furtherance of sports and sports talents in Germany are traditionally a task which is taken care of by the single states.
The largest of the states with roughly 18 Mio inhabitants is North Rhine Westfalia. To support their best athletes ,several training bases were erected where top class sport would have a home. One of the bases for cyclists is located in Büttgen. It is where our time trial frame comes from.
In the 1980s and 1990s Faggin time trial bikes like this one were the workhorses of the states Team. The Team NRW would consist of some of the finest talents, of which this western part of Germany gave forth to. They were professionally trained and were able to use machines just like ours to compete in national and international races.
It is a straightforward low-pro frame made from Columbus tubing and whithout any fancy extras - well maybe the chromed rear triangle and the aero shaped straight fork count as a bit of luxury. The paintjob resembles the Italian flag but in fact it shows the colours of the NRW coat of arms.
