Description

Hetchins bikes are amongst the most wanted classic lightweights out there. Partly because of their distinctive frame designs often with opulent ornamental lugwork and curly rear stays, partly also due to their excellent riding characteristics.
In the 1920s Hyman Hetchin, a Russian jew who fled to England after the Revolution of 1917, founded a shop in London where he also sold bikes. When he met framebuilder Jack Denny who had experimented with an innovative design involving curved stays, he saw the potential of his work. Both teamed up and patented the design in 1934. The partnership soon brought rewards in the form of Olympic and World's Championship victories in 1936 and sales increased until WW2.
Apart from the patented curly (or "vibrant") stays, Hetchin's frames were (and still are) known for ornate, and often hand-cut, lugwork.
Our Hetchins Experto Crede Classic Singlespeed Bike seems to stem from the 1950s and it shows the ornate lugs specific for the Experto Crede models. In this case they are the nicer (and more expensive to produce) casted ones instead of the pressed ones featured on some later exemplars.

The equipment fits the bike perfectly and is mostly provided by British companies such as GB brakes, the beautiful Chater Lea chainset, Brooks saddle of BOA chromed pedals. To ensure that you will be able to enjoy the comfy ride without any troubles, the bike is not just completely serviced in our workshop, but also fitted with brand new puncture protected Japanese Panaracer tyres.

A classy bike which is just as fun to ride as it is a pleasure to look at.
