Description
Mario Martini from Pistoia, Italy, is not very known even to those who know a thing or two about Italian framebuilding. Unlike his namesake who famously painted the Somec frames our Mario , although obviously very talented framebuilder, didn't created such a buzz even in his hay days. But what he lacked in fame he returns ten times in authenticity.
His shop in the town of Pistoia near Florence was The place to go with all cycling related. When something needed a repair or when someone wanted a bike just for him Mario had a reputation of being able to do pretty much anything. Simply put he was the beating heart of the cycling scene in the area and he even sponsored the local racing club. There were just several bikes per month made in his workshop and they are very rare nowadays.
Just like our M.Martini classic road bike from 1970s which has been nicely refurbished in a cherry red colour. There are no "wow" features on thee frame made of light Columbus tubes, yet everything has been done precisely and very well. Just a scrutinizing eye will enjoy the true quality of the fine cutouts on the lugs or the delicate brake bridge.
An so the frame acts like a cherry red canvas for the true party piece. The Campagnolo Nuovo Record gruppo has been pantographed and milled in a rather unusuall and extensive way. There are not many parts which have been left untouched by the skillful hand of Mr. Martini.
Refurbished and fully serviced in our workshop where all parts have been disassembled and then put together this rare and beautiful bicycle is ready for a ride.
