Description

In 1939, four years after setting the World Hour Record, Giuseppe Olmo, nicknamed "Gepin", retired from a successful cycling career. Straight afterwards, he set up a bicycle manufacture in Celle Ligure together with his brothers Franco, Giovanni and Michele. The traditional company is still in production today. During the years many excellent bikes have left Celle Ligure to win races all over the world.

The Olmo Competition formed the core of the road bike series. Built with light Columbus SL tubes in different versions during the late 1970 and early 1980s, the Olmo Competition was the top model of the product line and equipped with Campagnolo Record components.

This particular Racer dates back to the late 1970s and still has its original paint. Beeing a high class bike, it is fully fitted with Campagnolo Nuovo and Super Record parts, as it deserves. The chainring, shifters and seatpost have been precisely pantographed by Olmo making this bike a little bit more special. Worth mentioning is also the racing number holder under the top tube.

Condition Used
The bicycle is in good condition. The frame has no cracks, no dents and is not bent. The paintwork has been refurbished by a previous owner. All parts have been checked and are working fine. The bicycle went through a full checkup at Steel Vintage Bikes workshop! Parts were disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled again. The frame was checked for structural integrity and all wearing parts were replaced with new ones. You can expect the bicycle in fantastic riding condition and ready to go for your vintage bike ride.
