In 1939, four years after setting the World Hour Record, Giuseppe Olmo, nicknamed "Gepin", retired from a successful cycling career. Straight afterwards, he set up a bicycle manufacture in Celle Ligure together with his brothers Franco, Giovanni and Michele. The traditional company is still in production today. During the years many excellent bikes have left Celle Ligure to win races all over the world.
The Olmo Sintex from the late 1980s on, formed the core of the road bike series. Built with strong tubes in different versions during the late 1980s and early 1980s, the Olmo Sintex was meant to be used for serious racing.
This particular Olmo Sintex in original red paintjob illustrates the typical investment cast fork crown and bottom bracket shell with Olmo engravings and cut-outs of the Competition series. The frame is made of light and sturdy Columbus SLX tubes with inner helical reinforcements.
It is equipped with a blend of Campagnolo parts, some of which have been Olmo pantographed. It is then finished with 3ttt cockpit, Mavic CXP30 rims or brand new San Marco Rolls saddle.
The bike has been fully checked in our workshop and is ready to be ridden.
