Mavic is a French manufacturer of bike systems and riding equipment which was founded in 1889. Mavic has more than 100 years of experience in the manufacture and development of bicycles and it continues to develop its designs for the future. The company employs over 300 people, who all have a passion for cycling and are dedicated to the Mavic brand. The company is based in the heart of the French Alps. The location in Annecy is ideal for trialling new designs on mountainous terrain or the singletracks and sensational downhills of the Semnoz, in order to develop new mechanisms and components and to test the effectiveness of their new designs. Today Mavic offers a wide range of products, which are suited specifically to track cycling, mountain biking or road and triathlon cycling. They also make helmets, cycling accessories and clothing.
Mavic not only manufactures high quality bicycles parts, it also plays a key role in the world of professional cycling. Both Garmin-Sharp and Katusha are teams belonging to Mavic. Riders such as Tyler Farrar, David Millar and Johan Van Summeren all use Mavic's Cosmic Carbon Ultimate and have achieved a lot of success with this wheel-tyre system.
