Description
An Italian brand with heritage, Chirico is a family business from Bussero (Milan) at the third generation. Grandfather Enrico established a bike manufacturing around 1900, father Erminio led the company from 1948 to 1987 and since then, Luigi Chirico has taken over the enterprise.
Widely known in the Milanese area for custom builds, Cicli Chirico manufactured racing bikes & frames for many famous and successful clients including Andrea Cinelli. The business boom of aluminium and carbon frames marked the end of their steel production and today Chirico is "only" a high-class bike shop.
This Chirico Competition dates back to the 1980s and was built with light and sturdy Columbus SL tubes. The frameset is literally a heap of engravings, cut outs and pantographed parts, showing the typical attention to details of small frame builders at its finest. The groupset is nothing less than a Campagnolo Super Record with lots of pantographed parts.
The highlights of this particular bicycle are:
1) High end wheels with polished Ambrossio clincher rims on Campagnolo Record hubs
2) Lightweight modified titanium Campagnolo Super Record brakes
3) It is ready for Eroica or any other cycling event with a big rear freewheel with 28 teeth
4) Great frameset, made of Columbus SL steel, featuring chromed lugs and many pantographs, as well as internal routing. Original paintwork and decals!
5) Fully restored with many new parts and ready for your next ride! A comfy bike with low maintenance.
Condition
Used. Original paintwork, chrome and decals. There are no dents, no cracks. The paint is in fairly good condition and beautiful champagne color. All, parts work great. Many new parts built: new chain, handlebars, bartape, tires, inner tubes. All bearings were lubricated and the wheels are true.Bicycle Size
