The brand Rauler was founded by the brothers Raul and Reclus Gozzi in the 1970s.Its name Rauler is a mix of Raul's forename and the first letter of Reclus (Raul e Reclus)The brothers were at some point contracted by Colnago to build frames under Ernesto’s marque until they parted ways in 1984. In fact they were also responsible for Colnago’s pantography and manufactured the intricate lugs for the Colnago Arabesque models. But their own bikes as well are really well built pieces of classic Italian craftsmanship. Our Rauler Special is made of high-end Columbus tubing, the classic choice for fine professional level bikes throughout the 1970s and early 1980s.The frame still has the original muted golden paintjob, typical for 1970s Rauler bikes. The fine lugs with Rauler emblem, seat stay caps or just how cleanly details like the brake bridge are manufactured leaved no doubts that this is a high class frame.
Regarding the parts, it's equipped with Campagnolo groupset combined with beautigul Galli brakes and Ofmega crankset. And its gold anodized chainrings give the bike some characted, perfectly matching the paintjob. Our Rauler has been built as a vintage bike which you can really enjoy and rely on, so it has a pair of notoriosly reliable Mavic MA2 clincher rims, 28-toothed freewheel and couple of fresh new parts like tyres, brake pads, chain or bartape. If you would need to, you can easily fit even wider tyres to make it properly comfy on longer rides. If you are looking for a bike for a vintage cycling event or a classy steed for weekend or city rides, this Rauler is the reliable machine you need.
