While many bicycle builders have been offering different quality ranges to meet the expectations of a wider circle of customers, Irio Tommasini has never done anything alike.
The artisan frame manufacture from Grosseto, Tuscany knows nothing but one category of frames - top class. And what else would you expect from someone who worked together with the giants of frame building Faliero Masi and Giuseppe Pelà?
His expertise and relentless quality-oriented craftsmanship found him fame and fans all around the globe, as did his beautifully executed frames.
This particular Tommasini Velocista dates back to the year 1995 and belongs to exactly those legendary bikes built in the Italian factory in Grosseto.Made of superb Columbus MAX tubing. A tubeset wich was massively oversized and specifically oriented to support areas of stress. And then there are of course the intimidating chainstays and forks, which transferred power like nothing seen before and gave the rider a feeling like riding on rails. The reactivity of this frameset is almost harsh. The probably over-engineered tubeset makes for a superb bike and the special, evenly oversized lugs are always a great thing to feast ones eyes on. As is the paintjob which has to be extra special like so many of Tommasini's creations.
This Tommasini Velocista is fitted with top parts from Campagnolo, namely the Campagnolo Record groupset. It turns the bike into a pure pleasure to ride. On top come the rare and top-notch Mavic Ceramic rims which offer ample stopping power.
A bike for every day, for club rides, for longer weekend rides as well.
