Peugeot was one of those early bicycle manufacturers which grew big and succsessful during the 20th century. Their first bike was already built around 1882. But their reputation grew mainly due to their racing activities. Peugeot sponsored racing squads and cyclists from 1903 until 1983.
In this time they managed to win the tour de france 10 times and numerous championships, classics and one day races. Who has not seen the pictures of Tom Simpson and Eddy Merckx, winning the World Championships 1965 and 1967 on a Peugeot?
Over all this success one should not forget about the wide range of racing bikes aimed at the amateur market, which the French company produced and offered. These bikes did benefit quite a bit from the reputation experience Peugeot had built with its racing success. One of these pieces is our Peugeot PA10/LE from 19870s. It radiates all that aura of reliability for which the models of Peugeot were known and highly regarded.
The frame is built with Peugeots own 'allege' steel tubes and allows for some competitive riding. The parts are supplied by French manufacturers like Simplex, Mafac or Normandy, preserving the authentic French spirit.
Good coice for everyday rides and so for gistoric races. Checked in our workshop and ready to ride.
