Are you looking for that perfect gift for that cycling-obsessed friend? Or, are you that friend, just dying to know how much racing bicycles have changed over the last 100 years? If so, then our new book will answer all your questions.
We will take you on a journey through the ages, as we look at some of our favourite bikes that we have restored over the last few years. Starting at the turn of the 20th Century, we examine the ways gearing systems for bicycles have changed and how they have adapted with technological advancements. We also look at some of the bicycles that forged some of the greatest and most iconic riders of the golden age of cycling, the 60s and 70s. Not to mention, some of the wackiest designs of frames emerged in the 80s as a greater understanding of the importance of aerodynamics became influential in the world of cycling.
The pictures will hopefully give you an essence of what the bike was really like in the flesh, and the texts should assist in gaining a better understanding of why some of the features are the way that they are.
