Description

This elegant French bike pays tribute to one of the most iconic figures in cycling sport - to Bernard Hinault. With 5 Tour de France, 3 Giro d'Italia, 2 Vueltas and 5 monument victories on his palmares (among his 147 professional victories), his success was strangely enough not the main reason of his immense popularity. It was his distictive character which won him favor of the crowds and off course his nickname "the badger".

To no surprise, there rose a certain desire among the fans, to own a bicycle with the badger on the badge and decals with the name of their hero. This Bernard Hinault classic ladies bike is one of them. Made by famous manufacturer Gitane, it features the typical detailes of 1970s French bicycle. Since Hinault sent most of his professional career on Gitane bikes, the connection was obvious.

Based on stable "mixte" frame with two parallel slopin top tubes, it's equipped with nice parts like Huret shifting, Mafac brakes, Gipiemme hubs, Sugino cranks or Mavic rims. On top it has dynamo powered lights, mudguards and a nice rear rack.

Both practical and stylish bike which is a good choice for everyday rides.
