Alan was founded in Italy by Falconi Lodovico in 1972. The name ALAN is a composition of the names of his son ALberto and his daughter ANnamaria. And also stands for ALuminium ANodised. ALAN is best known for lugged aluminium and carbon fiber bicycle frames.
Alan collected such an expertise on the field of quality aluminium and carbon fiber frames, that many other brands simply bought frames from Alan and had them re-branded. Colnago might be the most famous one.
The Alan frames were particularly successful when it got rough and muddy. Their cyclocross bikes won no less than 20 (sic!) world championship titles. A series without comparison.
What we present to you here is a smoother version of their bikes. The classic aluminium frame which usually was equipped with excellent components, was made for competitive racing. It has an inherited feature from its cross siblings, though which is the slightly flattened top tube. It enforces the lateral stiffnes of the top tube, while at the same time making it easier to be carried on the shoulder.
The parts on it are also special aluminium ones. It is a partly pantographed Campagnolo Nuovo Gran Sport groupset.
An Eroica-ready bike for friends of classy aluminium frames. Checked, lubed and ready to go.
