Description
Alan was founded in Italy by Falconi Lodovico in 1972. The name ALAN is a composition of the names of his son ALberto and his daughter ANnamaria. Alan collected such an expertise on the field of quality aluminium and carbon fiber frames, that many other brands simply bought frames from Alan and had them re-branded. Colnago might be the most famous one.
Perhaps better known for their aluminium frames, Alan was also at the forefront of the early carbon frames. True to their successful and well proven technique, the carbon tubes were connected by classic aluminium lugs known already from the Record model.
Our Alan R/30 Carbon vintage road bike comes from the 90s and it belonged to the absolute best you could buy back then. Unlike the very early Record Carbonio model its tubes have a slightly larger diameter to improve stiffness. In order to accommodate larger tubes the aluminium lugs had to be modified, yet they have kept their classic design.
As for the parts this cool bike is equipped with full Campagnolo Chrous 8-speed gruppo with shifting operated from the bars. And the rest is equally high class with Cinelli cockpit with 1R inner clamping stem, Mavic Open Pro clincher rims or brand new Tufo handmade tyres.
Some other wearing parts were also replaced for brand new ones so you can enjoy a trouble-free ride.
Condition
Used. The bicycle is in good condition. The decals are all original. All parts have been checked and are working fine. The bicycle went through a full checkup at Steel Vintage Bikes workshop! Parts were disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled again. The frame was checked for structural integrity. The frame has no cracks, and is not bent.
