Description
Ever since Basso started building bikes in 1981, they have been on the forefront of innovative steel designs with a classic appearance.
The company was founded by three brothers. Marino was a professional cyclist who won the 1972 world championships and numerous podiums in grand tours. He brought the knowledge about how a bike should feel and his name. Renato was an academic philosopher and became the financial manager of the company. The youngest, Alcide was the one who was most interested in the technical aspects of bike building and set up the initial workshop.
And here we present you a fine Basso Loto Road Bike. It comes from the early 1990s and is based on a frameset which used to be the top model of the Basso product line. Columbus SLX tubing with helical reinforcements, shot-in rear stays and internal cable routing are clear signs of an extraordinary frame.
The tubes are connected by typically cut-out lugs. and the paintjob is one of Basso's two-colourways.
As for the groupset, a sturdy and ultra-reliable Shimano 600 Ultegra has been installed.
A stunning Italian machine suitable for fast rides. Completely checked in our workshop, it is ready to go.
