Description

Giovanni Battaglin was not only a great stylist as a rider but also an innovative producer of absolute top class racing frames. In fact, a great margin of the legendary Italian steel frames from the 1980s and 1990s had been produced in his manufacture in Bassano del Grappa, many of which for other famous companies.

So to no surprise, this Battaglin road bike from the 1987 is very well made. It's frame is made of lightweight and sturdy butted Columbus tubes. These tubes are then connected the traditional way with lugs and with nice details like engravings on lugs and tubes.

The paint reminds us of one of the greatest hours of Battaglin frames: the frame comes in the colours of the Pro Team Carrera. A Team which did not only ride nice (Battaglin) bikes but also had mega-talented riders in their ranks. The most famous must be Stephen Roche who managed the incredible of the 1987 triple: he won the Tour de France, the Giro d'Italia and the World Championship race, all in one year.

The components are all fine pieces of Italy's famous makers from Cambiago. The bike is dominantly equipped with Campagnolo C-Record parts. The best you could get.

Both frame and parts are well preserved on top of it. That means that with a bit of care they will last for many years and thousend of miles.

A handsome Italian road bike which is in great shape and which you can really enjoy on all kinds of rides.
