Battaglin Wanderer Perfect 26" Randonneur Bike

Based on a Battaglin frame from the 1990s we built these beautiful neo-retro touring bike. The high-end frameset inspired us to get as much out of it as possible when it comes to reliable touring.
There has been a long lasting love affair of long distance bike travellers with stable 26" frames and for good reasons. The frame can often be designed smaller thus stronger than large frames and the center of mass will be moved closer to the ground which makes the bike more controllable. And then there is the fact that replacement parts for 26" mountain bikes can be found virtually in the most remote corners of the world.

The frame itself is a great point to start from, with sportive angles but a massive wheelbase. A perfect base in fact for 26" Randonneur bike which will roll steadily and stable over varying terrain while being loaded with panniers and low riders.

Every detail of this bike has been thought through to finally contribute to the sportive yet rock solid and easy maintenance character of this bike.

From the strong wheels with world-roaming cyclists favourite Ryde Sputnik rims, the dynamo hub, the modulated V-brakes or the ergonomic seat. All was put together to ensure a long lasting trouble-free cycling experience.
The handlebar allows for multiple position changes and keeps control of the bike in your hands.
Mudguards keep yourself and your luggage dry, while the wide 50mm tires deliver on grip as well as comfort. They are the best vibration dampening and comforting components you can run on a bike.
The strong Tubus racks are some of the finest you can get and allow you to load enough stuff for a transcontinental journey.
To ensure that your bike does not topple over, we installed two fine kickstands - one in the rear and one in the front.

But do not be fooled by the slightly bulky appearance of this machine. With its robust Shimano 105 shifting and drivetrain, it will swallow miles on tarmac as easily as it takes the sting out of bone shaking gravel roads.

Since you might not travel all year round, you can easily remove a rack or two and use the bike as a mega-reliable commuter!
