Description

This Benotto road bike from the 1950s is not only an extremely rare beauty with lovely details. It also is an extremely advanced built, the top class of its time.
The crankset is the splined Gnutti patent. You think Isis or Octalink was a good idea? Gnutti made these multi-splined, cotterless bottom bracket spindles and cranks in the early 1950s! And this exemplar is still running smoothly. The frame is made from Libellula tubes a light and sturdy material, favoured by many artisan framebuilders back in the day. To secure a nice shifting it had been outfitted with the legendary Campagnolo Gran Sport shifting and the hubs are also Campagnolo.
Thanks to the notoriously future-oriented Benotto Brothers the bike has a geometry that is well ahead of its time. The slim frame has gained a nice patina that does not cover the magnificence of the paintwork and the nice lugs.
To complete the awesomeness that is this Benotto there is an original old steel pump and a pair of rare Agrati pedals!
