Description
Bergamin classic bicycle from the 1940s with Campagnolo Cambio Corsa. Founded in 1958, Bergamin is a small yet outstanding Italian brand from Turin, Italy. Between the 1960s and 1980s they traded high-end steel bicycles which were actually manufactured by third frame builders, such as Sancineto, Pelà, Giamè and Villata amongst others.
Most of you out there are certainly wondering how it is possible that they produced a 1940s bicycle since the foundation dates back to 1958. Well, this is actually the personal bicycle owned by Danilo Bergamin, the founder of the brand Bergamin. We learnt this interesting anecdote from the previous collector who bought it directly from Mr. Bergamin.
The frame was hand-made by Sancineto using Columbus tubes. It also underwent a refurbishment but its authenticity has been preserved by keeping the original Bergamin decals.
Despite its age, this Bergamin is really flawless and still sticks out for its austere elegance. Being a 1940s bicycle, it is equipped with an original Campagnolo Cambio Corsa gearing - also known as "Cambio a due stecche" - in perfect working condition. All the steel parts have been accurately polished, like the extremely rare Martorano rims.
The right choice for a collector.
The pictured aluminum water bottle is new and is included in this offer.
