Bianchi Freccia Classic Road Bike 1953

When it comes to vintage bicycles, there are few things as iconic as the famous "Bianchi Celeste". Forever associated with the epic victories of Fausto Coppi, the Bianchi paintwork has become a legend of cycling history.
In the 1950s Bianchi started to revolutionise their model line, by building road bikes for the use of new parallelogram derailleurs. Those were introduced by Campagnolo and soon proved to be superior to their classic rod operated shifters like the Campagnolo Paris Roubaix (with the exception of a lower chain tension probably).
The model we present here, the Bianchi Freccia, is one of those bikes which were using Campagnolo's dropouts with an included derailleur hanger for their new shifting systems.

Technically, the Freccia was what Bianchi called a semi-racer. A bicycle which was meant for sportive riding, amateur competition but also fast touring. The biggest difference to the professional level racing bikes was that the Freccia still had a one-by drivetrain, whereas the Campione del Mondo for example was already fitted with two chainrings and a front derailleur.

We are happy to be able to present to you a Bianchi Freccia from 1953. A classic bicycle with all that Celeste spirit which you can expect of a Bianchi. Beautiful, fully rideable, and a nice supplement to any collection.
