Description

When it comes to vintage bicycles, there are few colours as iconic as the famous "Bianchi Celeste". Forever associated with the epic victories of Fausto Coppi and Felice Gimondi, the Bianchi paintwork has become a legend of cycling history.
L'Eroica events are always packed with celeste bicycles; they are some of the most desirable bicycles in the world of vintage cycling. Their popularity at events like these goes to illustrate the prestige of Bianchi and the desirability of some of their finest models.
The top model in the early 50s was Bianchi Paris-Roubaix. The successor of the legendary Folgore, it was named after Fausto Coppi's Paris-Roubaix win in 1950. You can admire the elegant solution of the semi-integrated headset elegantly packed in the flowing chromed lugs. This bicycle with serial number 286647 stems from approximately 1951 and it still sports the original celeste paintjob. As for the parts, this model comes equipped with the iconic Campagnolo Paris-Roubaix "una leva" derailleur, much upgraded version of the Cambio Corsa. With this system Coppi managed to cover 247 km of rough and cobble roads in 6h and 18min averaging 39.12 km/h. The rest is also very fine with FB crankset, Universal brakes, D.A.M wooden rims and F.N saddle. A rare chance to get hold of this significant model which is in sweet original condition on top.
