Description
When it comes to vintage bicycles, there a few things as iconic as the famous "Bianchi Celeste". Indissolubly connected with the epic victories of Fausto Coppi and Felice Gimondi and other team riders, the Bianchi paintwork has become a legend through the years.
Serge Parsani was one of the most loyal riders to the famous Bianchi squad through the 70s and 80s. Starting his professional career in 1974 by sitting on a Bianchi he didn't change the iconic celeste colour for any other until his retirement in 1983. During these years he celebrated some important victories, among which the stage wins in both Tour de France and Giro d'Italia count as the most impressive ones. Though he was a great rider humself, he was foremost known for his role as closest support to one of the best riders of all time - Felice Gimondi.
And here we have one of his Professional Team Bianchi bikes, built in 1981 and ridden on the pavé of Paris Roubaix.
This Specialissima Reparto Corse still sports the racing paintjob and is still equipped with mostly original parts.
We thus decided to keep it as authentic as possible and basically just cleaned it and replaced as little as necessary.
Concerning the parts, Parsani's Specialissima is equipped with the best you could hope for as a Professional: A Campagnolo Super Record groupset. The stem, brake-levers and seatpost are nicely pantographed and there is even a vintage Bianchi bottle.
As if the above mentioned wouldn't be enough there is one more detail to mention. With a closer look you will find Serge Parsani's autograph on the top tube. The bike also comes with a signed picture where he rides through the mud and over the cobbles of Paris Roubaix. Likely it's the very Specialissima we offer you here. Its slack seat tube angle is really made for such a rough environment.
This is an opportunity to get hold of a legendary bike model of a great rider who rode for a legendary team. Certainly a great choice for collectors!
