Description
When it comes to cycling, there are a few things as iconic as the famous "Bianchi Celeste". Forever associated with the epic victories of Fausto Coppi and Felice Gimondi, the Bianchi paintwork has been a legend of cycling history ever since.
Masterly handmade in Italy by the Bianchi Reparto Corse – the Bianchi racing division - the Bianchi Specialissima has been the pinnacle of the Milanese brand since its launch in the 1960s. Since then, this racing bike has appealed to thousands of enthusiasts around the globe and has become with its famous "celeste paintwork" an icon of the finest and purest racing tradition of the Italian bike manufacturing.
This Bianchi Specialissima "Professionale" – Mod. 00.05.11 – dates back to 1974 and arrived at Steel Vintage Bikes with original paint and an extra to the standard: a set of soldered cable guides!
The lightweight Columbus tubing frameset is equipped with a Campagnolo Record groupset. In this combination (without pedals and bottle cage), the bike weighs less than 9kg!
Given the original condition, we decided to preserve the authenticity of this bicycle by cleaning what was necessary without degrading the very unique (and attractive) "patina" of this 43 years old racing machine. The same treatment was given to the original Campagnolo Record groupset and the original Bianchi water bottle completes this dreamlike set up.
A vintage racing bicycle which does not need much words. Simply a Bianchi, pure Italian cycling heritage.
