Bianchi Specialissima X3 Collectible Road Bike 1980s

The Bianchi Specialissima is undoubtedly one of the most iconic racing bicycles which the Milanese brand has ever produced. Unmistakably Bianchi for the famous "Celeste paintwork", the Specialissima has been developed in different versions which stick out for a unique manufacturing and attention to details. Just as the Bianchi Specialssima X3, a rare model released in the early 1980s and sold for a short time.
The frameset was built with Columbus SLX tubes and differed from other contemporary models for a few, refined details:

- a sloped aero-fork crown

- aero-shaped seat stays and fork blades

- "V" shaped brake bridge

The Specialissima X3 frameset was then subsequently used as the base from which the Bianchi Centenario model was developed. The very typical fork crown, rear triangle and brake bridge of which were basically adopted from the X3.

This Bianchi Specialissima X3 arrived at Steel Vintage Bikes in original condition so we decided to preserve its authenticity by keeping the original paintwork, decals and parts. The bicycle is fully equipped with a Campagnolo Super Record groupset including beautifully pantographeded parts and a super-rare Campagnolo 'prototype' seatpost.
