Description
Probably one of the finest and most beautiful steel racing bicycles ever produced, the Bianchi Specialissima X4 Argentin is a limited edition of the famous Bianchi Specialissima model. Bianchi produced this Specialissima X4 for six years between 1986 and 1991, as a development of the "Centenario 1985" model. It was named after Moreno Argentin, after the professional rider of the Sammontana Bianchi team won Liège-Bastogne-Liège and the world championships of 1986 on it.
Our exemplar has not been restored or repainted. Instead we decided to keep it with the little patina it gained over the years. It is a real stunner in its original colours, a deep plack and classic "Celeste Bianchi". The setup with a Campagnolo C-Record groupset with Cobalto brakes makes it likely that it comes from the year 86/87 . The frame (serial no. E725) is made of superb Columbus SLX tubes and shows an iconic blade-shaped fork and rear triangle.
Beside that, the main features of this Bianchi Specialissima X4 Argentin are:
- the rounded style top eye joint with the pantographed writing “Bianchi” in a gold coloured paint
- the brake bridge with the pantographed writing "Bianchi" on the right side
- the internally routed rear derailleur cable
- the engraved head tube
For true connoisseurs: a bicycle to enrich any collection!
