Description
The Bianchi Specialissima is undoubtedly one of the most iconic racing bicycles which the Milanese brand has ever produced. Mostly produced in the famous "Celeste" paintwork, the Specialissima has been developed in different versions which stick out for unique manufacturing and attention to detail. Just as the Bianchi Specialssima X3, a rare model released in the early 1980s and sold for a short time.
The X3 frameset of an X3 was built with Columbus SLX or SL tubing (SLX in this case) and differed from other contemporary models for a few, refined details:
- a sloped aero-fork crown
- aero-shaped seat stays and fork blades
- "V" shaped brake bridge
The Specialissima X3 frameset was then subsequently used as the base from which the Bianchi Centenario model was developed. The very typical fork crown, rear triangle and brake bridge of which were basically adopted from the X3.
This truly iconic model cannot sport any other paintjob than the celeste colour. And the choice of parts is also almost given - just the best. Campagnolo Super Record fits the bike perfectly and it is fitted with freshly hand-laced wheelset with NOS Ambrosio rims on top.
Whether for collectors or Bianchi lovers, this Bianchi Specialissima X3 is a bike which is hard to resist to.
