Bob Jackson Reynolds 753 Road Bike

From its humble beginnings as an early J.R.J. Cycles business in 1935 - established by Bob Jackson with money lent from his mother - until 1986, when Bob retired from the chair of a internationally respected company, quality had been a key word throughout the decades.
Not only the "curly" frames they have been building for Hetchins since the late 1970s are real highlights, their fine Reynolds 753 frames are evenly exciting.

What we present here is a bike which is based on one of these frames.
The Reynolds 753 steel has been heat treated and then was drawn to thinner tube gauges than would have been possible with regular steels. Building these tubes into a frame required expert craftsmanship because a realignment of the frame after it was brazed was almost impossible. Also, the temperature at which a frame has to be brazed when using Reynolds 753 has to be kept within a very narrow range. Thus only few frame builders were able to build with this very demanding material.

Our classy Bob Jackson 753 is equipped with a Campagnolo shifting and a number of other components which make this bike Eroica eligible.
Clincher tires ensure that the bike is also usable on everyday rides.
