Description
Bottecchia is a very traditional company which started as the small cyclery of Carnielli and was improved in 1924 by Ottavio Bottecchia, the first Italian Tour de France winner (1924, 1925). A new company with a new name “Bottecchia” was born after the mysterious and tragic death of Ottavio Bottecchia in 1926.
Their bicycles carried numerous champions to victory. Many of you out there still remember how Greg Lemond won his 1989 Tour de France on a Bottecchia Equipe.
This Bottecchia exactly illustrates the Team Malvor livery of the early 1980s, with a very typical matt black paintwork. The bike arrived at Steel Vintage Bikes in original condition and we decided to keep it as authentic as possible. The Columbus SL frameset basically underwent a complete cleaning and all parts have been serviced; cables, tires and chain have been replaced to make sure this Bottecchia is ready to be ridden.
Cherry on the top: a complete Campagnolo Super Record groupset.
A bicycle with Italian DNA. For serious racing. Approved to take part in Eroica events.
