Description
Bottecchia is a very traditional company which started as the small cyclery of Carnielli and was improved in 1924 by Ottavio Bottecchia, the first Italian Tour de France winner (1924, 1925). A new company with a new name “Bottecchia” was born after the mysterious and tragic death of Ottavio Bottecchia in 1926.
The bicycles they produced were high end pieces which carried many champions to victory.
Many might still remember how Greg Lemond won his 1989 Tour de France on a Bottecchia Equipe.
The bike we present here is a similar version of the bike Lemond rode then. It is built from Columbus TSX tubing, the update to the well known SLX tubes, great suited for larger frames. As for the parts it is equipped with Campagnolo Chorus 1st genearation parts and Campagnolo Athena brakes.
This bike really is a beautiful exemplar of high tech steel framing with a classic design and in a very large size.
A wonderful ride for each day or long weekend trips.
