Description

Located in Cuneo (Piedmont, Norther Italy), C.B.T. Italia has produced high-end racing bicycles since the early 1980s, when Guido Tardivo joined the family business that his father Giovanni had established thirty years before. (Costruzioni Bici Tardivo)

This C.B.T. Italia NOS frame has been specially produced for the owner of a well known bike shop in Northern Italy in the late 1980s. Costanzo, the owner, intended to sell them under his own shop brand. Good for us that he did not!

Despite some few signs of the years of storage we can now offer you a great steel frame of the finest provenance!

The tubing consists of Columbus SLX tubes, the famous 'superbutted' tubes from Cyclex steel with helical reinforcements on the inside. These tubes were the choice of most professional riders back in the second half of the 1980s and the early 1990s.

But what makes the frame really extraordinary is the way it has been profiled. Both top and down tubes are showing four crimps which are intended to make the tubing even stiffer (and add to a really rad look). The seat tube has a groove on the back side to leave some extra space for the back wheel to move forward, thus shortening the wheelbase. The chromed chain stays have a 'diamante' profile, a fine detail otherwise known from De Rosa bikes. The rear braking cable is elegantly routed inside of the top tube.

Re the components, we decided to build this superb frame with the top-class eye catching Campagnolo Croce D'Aune and C-Record parts with Delta brakes.

Hand-made, terrifically captivating and performing. The right choice for high-demanding riders with passion for details...
