C.B.T. Italia Eroica Bicycle 1980s

This C.B.T. Italia Eroica Bicycle is quite typical for the extraordinary way their bikes were built. The frames are always a bit more attractive, a bit more exclusive and refined than the already elegant standard Italian road bike.

The tubing consists of Columbus SLX tubes, the famous 'superbutted' tubes from Cyclex steel with helical reinforcements on the inside. These tubes were the choice of most professional riders back in the second half of the 1980s and the early 1990s.

But what makes the frame really special is the way it has been profiled and joint. The seat tube has a groove on the back side to leave some extra space for the back wheel to move forward, thus shortening the wheelbase. The rear braking cable is elegantly routed inside of the top tube. The seat stays are attached to the seat lug cluster in a 'shot-in' style and also house the clamping bolt.
The investment cast lugs are all embellished by the distinctive C.B.T sign.

Regarding the components, C-Record parts with Delta brakes absolutely seem to be the right choice. Take a closer look at the rear derailleur, yes, it is the rare first version with windows on both sides of the pulley cage! It is working perfectly on that light alloy 7-Speed freewheel by Marchisio. With its 28t large cog, it is soothing all the strain and pain, which the hills of Eroica races usually hold ready for cycling adventurers.
