Description
Cicli Carpene is a small bicycle shop in the Veneto region in northern Italy. Apart from trading with bicycles Carpene also sponsored cycling teams and, more importantly for us, created nice bicycle frames. Like this one.
It is a typical example of a mid-high end Italian road bike from the 80s. The steel tubes are connected with cut out lugs and some details like the fork crown chain stay and the seat stay caps are lit up with chrome.
It is also equipped almost exclusively with Italian components. The shifting and rims are by Campagnolo, headset and crank by Ofmega and the braking is by Modolo. The crank arms and the big chainring are nicely pantographed, a treatment usually reserved for the top models.
A classic Italian road bike which looks very nice and rides well.
