This Cinelli Model B from 1961 is an excellent piece of cycling history. Since it entered the market, Modello B - the 'little brother' of the Modello S.C. - has been one of the most elegant and competitive bikes available. Through the decades it has changed in small details, but always remained a thoroughbred racing bike. This model's elegance and performance are legendary. Viktor Kapitanov's triumph in the olympic road race of 1960 on a Model B is unforgettable. Today, collectors around the globe are trying to get hold of good examples.
The chrome on this model has been restored, whilst the paintwork is a new metallic grey. A nice detail of the old design has remained: the oiler hole and the drain hole in the special 74mm bottom bracket shell.
As for the components, they are of the highest quality. The shifting, headset, seatpost and the hubs are Campagnolo. The Crankset, a three pin model, was designed by Magistroni for Cinelli. Of course, the bottom bracket for the extra wide shell is Magistroni too. Everything is slowed down safely by a reliable set of Universal centre pull brakes and brake levers.
This bike is much more than just the sum of its parts. As a whole it is a rare legend that you will enjoy riding for years to come.
