Description
Cinelli’s story started in 1948, when Cino Cinelli was tired of mechanical failure during his time as a professional racing cyclist. He tirelessly attempted to sell his ideas of a number of companies, but no one was interested in his pursuit of faultless components; they seemed to forget his expert knowledge as a winner of Milan-Sanremo. Giotto – Cino’s brother – manufactured parts like stems and handlebars from steel in Florence; Cino saw the opportunity for development and together they moved the factory to Milan. The brand they developed would become legendary in the world of cycling.
This Cinelli Superleggera is a fine example of the Cinelli brothers vision. With Columbus SL tubing, Campagnolo Record parts and Cinelli finishing kit, this bicycle is an all-Italian racing machine. Interesting features include the stunning chrome paintwork, exquisite lugs - including unusual lugged bidon cage mounts - and drilled components to save weight. In fact the frame of this bike shows the distinct feature of the special Cinelli Supercorsa Leggerissimo (drilled bottom bracket) which was made for the German bike trader Bruegelmann. Of course these were not chromed. In fact, a chromed bike is hardly what you would call lightweight. But it is durable and looks great!
The perfect machine to stand out at your next Eroica event.
