Description

Giovanni Pelizzoli – nicknamed "Ciöcc", which in the dialect from Bergamo means spike or nail – is well known worldwide thanks to his Ciöcc bikes, which he manufactured from 1969 to 1980. Monuments like the Iper, San Cristobal and Mockba left his workshop in northern Italy and soon became widely esteemed for a particular attention to details and meticulous craftsmanship. As a frame designer he was responsible for Olympic podium bikes and successful pro team machines. Even though the brand Ciöcc was soon handed over to other managers, their production stayed true to the legacy and some excellent road bikes were made.

Ciöcc models from the 90s tend to be named after birds, apparently. We have came across Falco (falcon), Gufo (long-eared owl) and here we present you the Assiolo, named after the small scops owl. Quite an apt name for this small sized Italian bike.

Our Ciöcc Assiolo classic 90s bike is made of Columbus Gara, not the lightest of tubesets, but which makes for a very stable frame with a great longevity. Being the 1990s frame, it show some advanced features like the cable guides brazed on the heat tube lug or the internally routed brake cable, but it is also very classic indeed. The frame has some nice pantographed lugs, classic not oversized tubes, and the chromed fork has the very traditional crown with an engraved Ciöcc logo.

It is equipped with Campagnolo parts from the 1990s with triple crankset, Ergopower shifters on the bars and very nice Campagnolo Omega clincher rims. The combination of the triple crank and 26 cog cassette make it also perfect for those, who want to conquer steep long climbs with ease.

The last thing to mention is certainly the condition which is simply splendid. The bike has been ridden perhaps for a few kilometers and will trerefore faitfully serve for many years to come.
