Description

Giovanni Pelizzoli – nicknamed "Ciöcc", which in the dialect from Bergamo means spike or nail – is well known worldwide thanks to his Ciöcc bikes, which he manufactured from 1969 to 1980. Monuments like the San Cristobal and Mockba left his workshop in northern Italy and soon became widely esteemed for a particular attention to details and meticulous craftsmanship. As a frame designer he was responsible for Olympic podium bikes and successful pro team machines.

When in 1977 the U23 world championships in San Cristobal were won on a Ciöcc frame, Pelizzoli started to baptize his top road bike after the City in Venezuela.

Our bike here is one of those bikes and it has been nicely refurbished in a pearly white finish. The frame has been presumably made of lightweight Columbus SL tubes and with pretty short top tube will suite riders with shorter arms perfectly.

The equipment is the best possible and something you would find on a pure racing machine of the era - Campagnolo Super Record which features some details made of titanium alloy. The Omega rims are also made by Campagnolo and the black Hardox finish fits the white bike nicely. And so does the Almarc stitched leather bar cover and 3ttt stem.

The bicycle has been fully checked in our workshop and it is therefore ready to roll.

Condition

Used. The bicycle is in good condition. The frame has no cracks, no dents and is not bent. The pearly white paintjob has been professionally refurbished and thus in top shape. All parts have been checked and are working fine. The bicycle went through a full checkup at Steel Vintage Bikes workshop! All parts were disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled again. The frame was checked for structural integrity and all wearing parts were replaced with new ones. You can expect the bicycle in fantastic riding condition and ready to go for your vintage bike ride.
