Description
Even though Clemenso may sound very Italian, it may be slightly misleading. In the 1970s, when bicycle boom culminated, Italan bikes were so popular and earned such a reputation, that many non-Italian manufacturers wanted somewhat refer to it. And so it went that the small frame building workshop from Diest, Belgium was named Clemenso. Clemenso started to produce some high class bicycles in 1980. The frames proved to be of great quality and so Clemenso provided a number of professional teams with their gear.
This Clemenso Super Record is really nicely made, it shows many fine details like cutout lugs and Clemenso logos. But this one is even more special - it is a cyclocross version. And so it has Mafac cantilever brakes, great Suntour bar-end shifters, proprietry cable routing and above all the geometry which feel itself at home in terrain. Clearances are generous so wide tires like these brand new Panaracer Gravelking tires will fit nicely. In a sense, you can really look at it as a predecessor of today's gravel bikes. The frame is made of sturdy Columbus Aelle steel tubes.
A very versatile bike which is fast on the roads, capable in the terrain and comfortable at the same time. And above all, all this in the authentic style from the bygone century. L'Eroica approved!
