Description

The Colnago Super Sprint was one of the successors of the Colnago's classic Super model. In a time when his catalogue was already filled to the brim with profiled tubing and experiments with new materials, it was still a fact, that a good rider on a Colnago Super could ride nearly as well as on a Colnago Master.
So the Super underwent a bit of a renewal. The chainstays inherited the crimpless design of the older Mexico models, the brake cable was routed internally and the headlugs were chromed like on the earlier Master models.

One of those new Super-based models was the Colnago Super Sprint from 1989 and we are happy to be able to present one of them here. The frame is made using quality Columbus SL (superleggeri) and Cromor tubing and it underwent a respray, so it no sports a classic "retinato" pattern.

The highlight of this bike is without the doubts the equipment. It is a blent of Campagnolo high class parts and some other fancy stuff as well. You cannot miss the Campagnolo Delta Croce d'Aune brakes, C-Record hubs or Athena cracks. What set this groupset apart is the pantographing. Almost all of them have Colnago signature or logo engraved on them and you could have a hard time finding those left untouched. Regal Giradi saddle, 3ttt bars and Ambrosio Hypothesis rims round things up.

This bike has been serviced in our workshop and ready to ride. You can just leave it hanging on your wall to admire the heap of little details or take it duwn and take it for a spin.
