Colnago Aluminium Classic Road Bike 2000s

By the break of new millennium, carbon frames took the flagship role in almost all major brands line ups and Colnago was no exception. That created a situation, that the prestigious brand from Cambiago offered frames made from four major materials at the same time. The top models from carbon fiber were already race proven. Steel frames were also to have, as the true legacy of the brand and some titanium models were also available for the narrow prestige market. And then there were lightweight aluminium frames, brought to perfection in the last years.
And here we offer you one of these bikes, the model named quite frankly "Colnago Aluminium". The frame is made of lightweight aluminium alloy with some thin walled yet oversized tubes. It features a classic racing geometry with horizontal top tube and very short rear stays. The front fork is however made of carbon fiber by the French specialists Time. With the large aero blades it fits the frame perfectly.
Equipment is certainly one of the highlights of this Italian racer. The complete Campagnolo Chorus 10-speed gruppo is a treat to look at and it works really really well. As a little extra, you will enjoy the snappy gearchanges through the racing level Record Carbon shifters.
