Colnago Arabesque 50th Anniversary Vintage Bike

Released in 1984 to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the company, the Colnago Arabesque is a monument of the bicycle design from Italy. Ernesto Colnago has always been eclectic and the Arabesque is possibly the model which illustrates his creativity at best.

The highlight of this frameset are the "arabesque-shaped lugs", whose design was inspired by the Gloria Garibaldina Extra – a bicycle brand from Milan (Italy) which Ernesto Colnago had worked for until 1952-1953. Regarding the tubing, the Arabesque was built in different versions both with Columbus SL tubes and specially profiled Colnago tubes (the earlier versions similar to the Nuovo Mexico, whereas the later ones similar to the Columbus Gilco of the Master and Esamexico).

This particular Colnago Arabesque – Serial Number S6 – arrived at Steel Vintage Bikes in original condition and underwent a complete service to preserve its authenticity. Our mechanics disassembled, cleaned and tuned all components and replaced worn parts, as cables, tyres and bar tape. The result is terrifically beautiful the amaretto cherry on the top is a Campagnolo 50th Anniversary groupset – serial number 38. A Campagnolo Super Record BB with titanium spindle, a Campagnolo Super Record cassette, Mavic GP4 rims and Cinelli bars and stem complete this exquisite, top-class vintage setup.
